How to choose a diamond

How to choose a diamond ring.

The beauty of a diamond, its exceptionality and its price depend on the combination of four factors known as the 4 C's.

At Agüeras we include a fifth C, it is the confidence with which we always advise our clients.

1.- CARAT (WEIGHT IN CARATS)

A carat is equal to 0.2 grams, and is divided into 100 points, thus, a 0.50 carat diamond is also called a half carat or 0.50 points. The price scale is not proportional, as larger diamonds are harder to find and therefore have a higher value

2.- CLARITY (PURITY)

Inclusions appear naturally in the process of forming a diamond. The position and size of these tiny inclusions can slightly affect the refraction of light and therefore its value.

These inclusions are measured on a scale that goes from IF (Internally Flawless = internally perfect), to I3 (Internal inclusions).

DIFFERENT TYPES OF SIZES FOR YOUR DIAMOND RING.

3.- COLOR (COLOR)

The color of a diamond can range from the absolute colorless to yellow. There is an international scale that goes from D (exceptional white) to T (yellow). The closer they are to color D, the higher its value.

4.- CUT (SIZE)

Following scientific formulas, a correctly cut diamond will refract the incident light with greater brilliance. The "brilliant" cut is the best known and the one that allows a better breakdown of the white light that can affect any of its 58 facets. Diamonds that do not respect the ideal proportions can lose light due to the lateral or bottom facets. The more perfect the cut, the more value the stone will have.

At Agüeras we will advise you perfectly so that you can find the diamond that best suits your needs.
